Ascend Autism is Hiring a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist Near Hawthorne, NY

The SLP will evaluate, and provide therapy services to clients with speech and/or language disorders, formulate individualized treatment programs, keep appropriate records, and inform relevant parties about the clients' progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide SLP services to clients aged 2-8 years old
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' goals and needs
  • Help clients improve speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders
  • Maintain timely and accurate client records and reports to ensure client progress
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate client care
  • Educate families on strategies for managing conditions and maximizing independence

Skills:

  • Enthusiastic personality that will engage children
  • Strong client service skills, with the ability to provide compassionate and empathetic care
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with BCBAs, BTs, parents, and clients in a positive and constructive way.
  • Experience working with pediatric clients is highly preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with adults and children
  • Ability to plan, manage, and evaluate curriculum
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required for recordkeeping and documentation
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting throughout the home and/or classroom
  • Must be able to lift to 45 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with clients

Salary: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 per week
